What is Microsoft Intune?

Intune is the service within Microsoft 365 with which you centrally manage all your organisation's devices: laptops, pcs, phones and tablets. From one environment you set how devices must be secured, roll out settings and updates, and keep an eye on what is happening. So you no longer have to set up each device separately.

What can you arrange with Intune?

The main things you manage centrally:

• Enforce security settings, such as a mandatory pin code or disk encryption.
• Roll out apps and updates to all devices at once.
• Remotely wipe a lost or stolen device, so your data is not out on the street.
• Let new laptops set themselves up, so a new colleague is productive quickly.

Why is central device management important?

Because your data is increasingly stored outside the office. Without central management you have no view of whether devices are up to date and secure, and you can do nothing if they are lost. With Intune you keep a grip, even if everyone works from their own place. That is not only convenient, but also a building block for your security and for NIS2.

Is Intune already in my Microsoft 365?
